Bolide
The Bolide bag dates back to 1923 when Emile-Maurice Hermes created this handbag for his wife, which was the first ever handbag to use a zipper. The Bolide is an extremely functional and balances space with elegance. The word Bolide meant meteor at first and then in the twentieth century the French called the fast new cars ‘bolides’. Emile Hermes created this bag for a friend who was passionate about the automobile in 1923. After finding the zipper in America he attached this to the bolide and the bag as we know it was born. We are in love with this new Mini Bolide from Hermes, a contemporary interpretation of the original from 1923 offered here in lovely Rose Lipstick Chevre leather and Palladium hardware. Our model is wearing the same bag in black, shown for size reference.
